The first mioty hub center in Mexico has been established, marking a significant step forward in enabling innovative IoT applications. Working closely with esteemed partners and industry leaders, this collaboration will pave the way for transformative solutions in various sectors.

The mioty hub in Mexico is closely linked to Fabrica Digital, an initiative supported by Google and the Secretaria Federal de Economia. Together, we aim to leverage the power of mioty as a scalable and robust technology, revolutionizing industries such as water management, agriculture, smart cities, and Industry 4.0.

In support of this endeavor, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in late 2022. This MoU underscores our commitment to introducing mioty as the go-to technology for massive IoT deployments in Mexico. Fraunhofer IIS, represented by Prof. Michael Schlicht, has been actively engaged in discussions with industry associations for the past two years, setting the stage for this strategic partnership.

The first installation of mioty has taken place at the Universidad Tecnológica de Querétaro (UTEQ), which serves as the competence center for mioty in Latin America. Collaborating closely with Bernardo von Raesfeld and Marianela Talavera Ruz from UTEQ, Prof. Michael Schlicht and the mioty team from Fraunhofer IIS will provide their expertise to support the local industry and drive innovation along with further members of the mioty alliance and more enthusiast to make mioty happen in LATAM. UTEQ will play a crucial role in providing academic support and serving as an innovation center for the rollout of mioty systems and applications.
